The Democrats mistake was in thinking that a disastrous war, national bankruptcy, erosion of liberties, corporate takeover of government, environmental destruction, squandering our economic and moral leadership in the world, and systematic administration lying would be of concern to the electorate. The Republicans correctly saw that the chief concern of the electorate was to keep gay couples from having abortions. author -

I can't find my copy of this week's Time magazine this morning. But, there was a quote (I think from Conan O'Brien) that went something like this... The Country Music Awards were held in New York City for the first time ever. Isn't that wonderful? In a related story the Soul Train Music Awards were held in Salt Lake City.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." President Dwight D. Eisenhower April 16, 1953
I believe Eisenhower was a 5 Star General?

Francis Bacon said, "'Tis better to remain quiet and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and prove it." At least, that is what one Web reference said, and it's a page created by someone with a degree in philosophy. Other Web sites claim that the quote is by 'Unknown', or that great author Anonymous. I'll go with the Bacon attribution. from Glenn near Seattle

No quote for today, just a couple of questions ...
Hey "Glenn" (I prefer the gwcooper) ... how close to Seattle are you? Are you actually in Seattle, or hanging out in the woods somewhere? How can we meet? (and) Is there still a reward?
Seriously ... are you the POC for the Seattle show at the Triple Door? Will be there for both shows, arriving at some door (front? ... back? ... side-alley?) close to 4:30 PM. Looking to hook up with fellow feat fans, and to help Denny in so much as help is needed.

“Greed drives the desire for profit at any cost.
“When you encounter obstacles, you know what you are doing is important.” ~ Gottfried Müller I really like this one! “Knowledge without love is a cold light, a false light, which leads into the abyss.” ~ Abram Poljak
