Mike,
I hope I'm not running my big mouth too much. Please, if I am, tell me, to quote Sister Rose, "SHUT UP".
I have never been involved to this extint in a forum and it seems that an interest in the Feat is a d*mn good way to find people of intelligence that you can have a rousing conversation or debate with; and that's a hard thing to find.
Again, please forgive me if I go on too long.
Peace j

Jashley, I'm sure Mike will agree with me here, but I find myself disappointed when I log onto this message board and nobody has posted anything on any given day (fortunately it doesn't happen too often ). So keep posting away! I love reading what you, Tipi, Mike, Scott, Rick Moore, Rollin' Mark, Dave (DPK), BillL {we miss you Bill} and whoever I'm not thinking of right now please forgive me (is the bleepin' Oscars now or what ;D) Hope you're all indulging my posts as well. As far as I'm concerned the guys and gals on this message board are my friends who happen to live somewhere else! - chadgumbo Wish we could all be in Jamaica!

<snip, snip>I find myself disappointed when I log onto this message board and nobody has posted anything on any given day (fortunately it doesn't happen too often ). Me too, even when I don't have time to post I check in to see what conversations are going on. I have found that if you "seed" the message boards with different topics, folks show up and post. The tried and true members just need to seek out the lurkers. The lurkers need to jump into a conversation.. Lots of good Feat gigs showing up on the Tour Schedule and the more conversations going on about that, the better. Jamaica is about to be blessed with a couple of really good , and I mean really good Feat shows. They're relaxed and coming off a very tight and soulful end to the last tour. They haven't played together since and these shows, where they get togerther after a spell, are really something to behold. It'll be like they just played BB King's yesterday, but it'll be much sweeter :-) Can I get a Jamaican National Anthem with feeling?!?!?!?

Peace j Yep, this is a great way to get to know some great folks. I lurk on some other boards and that makes me soooo proud of FeatFans. From what I've noticed FFs are indoctrinated to be (IMO) intellegent, well rounded, polite, civil, fun loving, interesting people. (old hippies-just kidding. some of em are younger hippies-just kidding! ;D) Anyway...it's a fun bunch. And at the moment, the world just can't have enough fun bunches!!! Chad, wasn't it you that once said "sometimes you feel like a kid wishing somebody would come out and play"? I do feel that way when I haven't seen anything new on the boards. Should we get a life;...nah. I travel a lot working lately, and like it or not, you guys are my traveling companions. So, where do we all get together for some LF & Tequila &...? As we said in Austin in '72, "Onward Thru The Fog" or was it "Keep On Truckin!"...can't remember... Mike

Hoy Hoy All,
First thank you all for your kind words. I feel exactly the same way, I feel that I have found a lot of good friends here that happen to live in a different place. I will admit to being an old (unfortunately) hippie, is there anything wrong with that. Hippies believed in love and tolerance and never doing anything that they didn't put their heart and soul into. Call me nieve but I still feel the same way. By the way, contrary to the media misinformation, clothes or hair were not the factors involved in being a hippie.
Wish I could be in Jamaica not only for the concerts but to meet all of you great folks in person. To tie this post together I'll make a suggestion that we all meet in Kent, Ohio on May 4. There is always a memorial there for our four murdered brothers and sisters with great music and great folks. I went to school down the road at Akron U and I can show everyone the sights. Wish the Feat would play for the memorial some time.
Speaking of Kent does anyone remember the James Gang (with Joe Walsh, one of my favorite slide players) or Glass Harp (with Phill Keagy, sited by both Clapton and Hendrix as one of their favorite guitar slingers). Both of these bands started at a little basement bar called JB's. Saw both bands there one night and still one of my favorite r&r memories, Joe bought everyone a beer and I only wish it wasn't so crowded you couldn't breath. Joe is as crazy as he appears on TV, no respector of psuedo-status, not an act at all, and of course he is now an Eagle; Phil is now a huge Christian music star and still a great guitar player.
Mike,
I don't know if it's the incident you refered to but one time after one of BillL's vacations I asked him to come out and play on the politics thread (he hasn't posted in awhile and I miss him too). It does feel like play here because no matter how much we disagree or agree I have never seen anyone become disrespectful or mean on this forum and I, like you, am very proud of and think of everyone here as a friend.
Peace j

Chad,
These guys have tried to give me one of your opinions and your wife and now they are quoting me and giving it to you. Is this some kind of metaphysical, quatum leap kind of mix-up going on here? Please give me back my life. Where are Scully and Muldur when you need them? Oh my god, I think I see a black hole coming? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh......

Great shows with the James Gang and Walsh is a true charaecter. I also saw Glass Harp a number of times. If I remember correctly, he only has 3 fingers on his fretting hand. Also brought back memories of seeing Traffic at Dennison University and burning one with Winwood and the fellas while we sat at the front of the stage and they played "Coloured Rain"... love Traffic... Winwoods new album is really some of the best stuff I've heard him do in years. He seems to have gotten over wanting to be a pop star and is back to being a musician. Good Hammond work... pop

There are quite a few posts around these parts and I read something cool, then weeks/months later can't remember (*see old hippie reference) and am too lazy to go back and confirm. I suspect that we all feel like a kid waiting for someone to come out and play sometimes. However...I had nothing to do with giving Chads wife away! (she is cute tho!) Bill L., whereyat? Later, Mike

Page 20 of "Lets talk some politics..." Jashley sez: "I know everyone is busy with the Holidays but I feel like the little kid who can't get anyone to come out and play. I would think ..." Page 1 of "Favorite Movies" Chad sez: "Okay, I know it's Christmas time and people are awfully busy, but it's time for a new thread on the non-band related portion of this message board." Coincidence...I think not! Did we ever locate Scully and Mulder? I think I need thier help here. Jashley, save me a spot in that black hole...er, maybe I'll get lucky and it's just my memory ;D

Thanks to those who recommended Railroad Earth on this site. Downloaded some of their shows from archive.org .....what a great band.
Another band I found on archive.org is the John Butler Trio.
Well....back to downloading.
