HOY HOY ALL I thought this would be easy, it isn't. But here goes...
Peter Gabriel, Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, John Hiatt, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Stones, (Esp. Exile), Flying Burrito Brothers, U2, Dave Mathews Band, REM, Robben Ford, The Band, Quicksiver Messenger Service, Allman Bothers, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, Clash (inc, Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, check out thier last albumn), Grahamn Parker and the Rumour, Prince, Sting, Paul Simon, Smokey Robinson, Sam Cook, Aretha Franklin, somebody stop me before I hurt myself. There has been a lot of great music how come all we hear on the radio is bullsh*t. As soon as I send this I'll kick myself for leaving someone out. We should thank all these great bands (not just mine but everybodys) for making our lives a little bit better. Hope to see you at a Feat show jashley jashley11@hotmail.com

Hehehe This jashly is exactly why I have narrowed it down to "Anything w/ the Grease Factor"! An album by Shane Theriot ... as mentioned in our fearless (trust me) leaders post in this topic. I still havn't heard the album ... but as soon as I followed a link to Shanes page from LF.com ... and saw the hat I had to buy it!!! James Taylor might sing about nuthin' but sunshine, love, & country roads ... but James 'got da grease'! Anyway ... my new favorite CDs from nawlins are Eric Lindell- Piety St. Sessions Jon Cleary & The A.M.G. - Pin Your Spin On Me Sonny Landreth- The Road We're On The Cactus Liqours- I'll Know When I Get It Money back garawnteee! I will happily buy back any copies someone doesn't like. hehe send your request to: Tipiboy c/o Bob & Katie

tipi Great, you have a sense of humor. Da' grease huh'. Love it. You seem to have taste too, I'm serious check out the Mescaleros (W/Joe Strummer) you'll love it. I would like to hear your views and other Feat fans views on the state of radio today. Any way to stop clearchannell and thier ilk? Boycott anyone? Let the FCC know your views on the new fascitic regulations allowing almost unlimited radio station ownership to a few fat cats. This is a serious threat to the free flow of information in this country and we need to let the govt' know that we won't stand for the theft of citizen owned radio waves by a few. Keep on Rollin' jashley jashley11@hotmail.com

Stations here in DFW suck so bad either I play CD's or listen to the one decent "light jazz" station that we have. Don't have any good ideas other than voting properly in Nov., but if someone thinks of something, count me in!

I agree that the airwaves are a cultural desert but it is starting to sound like XM may hold some promise. At some point in the future I'll add one. I had a rental car a while back with an XM radio installed and was able to listen to nothing but blues during the entire rental period: No DJ rap, no commercials, just music. Capitalism will find a way to provide if there is a demand. We don't need any (more) government intervention. Meanwhilel, keep sharing the Feat and staying in the groove. Besides, posters here on the old BB are doing a good job of turning me on to new music so I'm keeping my ears busy.

Warren Zevon. Since the very beginning.
Jackson Browne (his song "Of missing persons" was his tribute to Lowell George).

Hoy Hoy I haave been interested in the state of radio for a while. Some time ago PBS ran a special on the state of radio and the new facistic FCC regulations this adm. has been trying to slip under the radar to hand YOUR radio airwaves to a few fat cats. 5 huge conglomerates now own 90% of the radio coverage in the U.S. The special brought up that out of 21 radio stations serving Mansfield, Ohio 17 of them were owned by Clearchannell. Clearchanell itself owns over 50% of the radio market now. This to me is SCARY. A very few people are soon going to control the flow of information in this country. To get more information I went to a recent PBS special "The Way the Music Died" and there were several links from a tab called new radio regulations on thier site, WWW.PBS.org then search for the show by name. When I have time I will get more direct links and post them here. Please inform yourself on this vital issue as the regs are being reviewed now, write your congressman, this is important for all Americans. I'll admit it has been a dream of mine to own a small independant radio station and if it ever happens there will be a lot of Little Feat. Help keep the free flow of Information alive in this great country. Peace jashley PS> Webmaster we seem to have gotten off the subject here maybe we should start a new thread.

Great thread from the highly regarded BFB... Here's my 2 cents: Little Village - I happended to have a certain drummer in the car with me on the way home from a gig and we got lost listening to this one. Rick Rick, Did said certain drummer have any comments regarding Jim Keltner? Another one of my favorite Time Keepers!

Yep, you gotta watch your mph, especially during "She Runs Hot". Isn't it something watching the "Greats" admire each others work! Thanks, Mike If you get a chance, get a hold of some moe and listen to Vinnie Amico beat on the cans. They have live shows available for your downloading pleasure (and then go out and buy some moe crap (http://www.moe.org/dgi/store.cgi?cart_id=&page=). This band sure appears to have what it takes for the long haul. Ain't nothing like having 30 or so years under your belt, playing music with your friends :-)))))) I really like this guy’s work and so does Richie. I wrote Vinnie an email and told him that Richie admired his work. The tone in his reply concerning Richie was reverent. He sure was pleased that one of his idols even knew who he was. Little Feat has always been held in the highest regard amongst the players that are involved in the real business of music. moe is only one example and it’s not a stretch to name off a long list of other bands. These bands are successful in their own right and are pulling in what is a sorely needed asset for the Feat community, folks that are between 23 and 35. The music community that surrounds the Little Feat community is a pretty spectacular place and although the musicians know of Feat, a lot of their fans aren't aware of Feat's music. That’s where the Little Feat Live Sampler #1 can be put to good use, and what it was produced to accomplish. Rick
