I do not know of any album cuts Sam sings leads on, but he does sing lead on "Spanish Moon" in concert and on all Band4 recordings of Moon.
Anyone else have any other Sam songs?

.44 blues for one (in concert) ... part of the Hot Tamales medley ... plus wasn't there one more blues tune they were doing last year or the year before that featured Sam? there was Feel The Groove (from Down On the Farm) .. .what else?

Thanks for the info! I do a radio show Called On Tour at WDBX, Community Radio For Southern Illinois. For my show this week I'm paying tribute to black history month and I wanted to play something with Sam on vocals. I appreciate the info! We're streaming live audio on wdbx.scientistsuperstar.com I'm on Thursdays 2:00 - 4:00 PM CST.

what about Feats Dont Fail me Now? He shares that with Shaun.
Hey Hank- are you thinking of that "Shake for Me" song- think that was back in '99.

He does the major vocal work on "Texas Rose Café" live. Easiest way to here a sample is to put your browser to web.comhem.se/~u09700112/ Just stay cool, and the website'll download it for you.

Thanks for all the help. I'm gonna play Spanish Moon off of Live Sampler #1. I'm gonna note these other songs so I'll have them handy in the future. I like his voice, I wish he sang more.

Hey Hank- are you thinking of that "Shake for Me" song- think that was back in '99. that could be it, Featbase shows it in both '99 and 2000, including a couple of shows I attended ... somebody else metioned Texas Rose Cafe, which saw some play in the setlist rotation last year; I have a shot of Sam wearing his cheaters to read the lyrics ... Featbase only lists the Avalon as having a setlist with TRC, but I wasn't there so it musta been at another venue as well.

Gumbo, Now we have two gumbos on the forum you and ChadGumbo. Welcome to you. If you check out the rest of the forum you will see that we have had several discussion (in the politics thread and elsewhere) about the evils of corporate radio. Since this is one of my pet causes right now and you probably have great insight into the situation and if you have some time I would love to hear what you have to say. You have probably already been there but there is a great website www.freepress.net that I would encourage you and everyone else to visit to inform yourself on this growing threat to our country and our freedoms. Visited your site but would love any additional info on community radio and your station you have. I would also like to know how I can GET MY OWN community or independent radio station. Keep playing the Feat and everyone will know your the coolest DJ in town. Peace j

Well, I know TRC was played at Schroeder (middle of f*@&ing nowhere) & we were there. It was the only time I heard it last tour. I was hoping to hear it again.

I have a copy of Sam singing Charles Brown's "Merry Christmas Baby" (a killer song) from the Tower Theater in Philadelphia on December 20, 1989. I don't have time to see if it is archived anywhere (quite possibly it is), but I have it on something called "Shake, Mambo and Roll Volume I" -- a compilation put together and offered to featfans a few years ago by (and I hope I remember correctly, would hate to offend anyone with my faulty memory) Guy Vickers.
Hope this helps

Hello again. jashley: yes, I agree, corporate radio sucks and is taking over the airwaves. That's one reason why independent, community radio stations are so important. I've never been to the site you posted, thanks for that. Our other website is www.wdbx.org If you really want to talk to an expert about community radio, I'd have to refer you to our station manager, a great guy named Brian Powell. He may be reached at 618 549-5900 or through the email link on the website. He'd be glad to talk to you. I've been playing live "jamband" music for 5 years now. There are some rabid, persistent Feat fans in the area who insist that I play LF every week. I'm glad to oblige. There's a guy at the federal prison work camp in Marion who says Little Feat tunes on WDBX are all that keeps him going sometimes. Thanks for all the help. Nice community ya'll got goin' on here.

Welcome to the community. If you send me your stations snail mail addy, I can arrange to have Little Feat's management send you a Hot Tomato Records sampler disc and probably a few other goodies too. There are a number of on air folks that travel through these message boards. I'd like to use the text that I quoted from your original message on the Feat's website, if it's OK with you. Reading it made my day ;-) Thanks for jumping into the conversation and I look forward to your future posts... Rick

Wow! Thanks. Sure, feel free to use it wherever and however ya want. Big thanks for hooking up the station with some tunes. We have plenty of live Feat because I'm always downloading stuff off the archive. But the station doesn't have any official releases. Anything that is sent would be greatly appreciated and would be put to good use. The Feat fan in prison I'm referring to happens to be an outstanding artist. For the last two years he has donated custom made WDBX art work for us to auction. He says that he is our "captive" audience and that his art is a small thank you for getting to hear Little Feat everyday. Often I'll throw in a weekly 30 minute live jam dedicated to him. Thanks for the warm welcome! ~ Kevin
