I just checked hotel discount.com and found these hotels for anyone coming in for the One World Theatre Show and then driving back after the Helotes (San Antonio )show: for 2 nights, 2 adults: 1. Closest, within 2 miles or so: visible from the venue:the Barton Creek Resort (and Country Club) - prices are what you might expect from a 4 star resort(and not available on a discounted web site) you could check into their golf packages if you play. 2. the Wellesley on Town Lake $53.00 good value for the price- kitchenette, pool and river views- 14 or so miles from venue- but also next to IH 35. (noise and traffic). 3.the La Quinta at Southwest Parkway and Mopac is 69.00 including continental breakfast - recently built. some traffic but basically a freeway to the burbs: will need a car for dining! 4.Embassy Suites on Town Lake ;a little further awaythan the LaQUinta above- probably 12 miles from venue- but hot breakfast , etc and can walk to downtown. $159.00 night 5. the Hyatt on Town lake is currently$157.00 but has been as low as $89.00. very nice. 6. La Quinta at the Capitol is $61.99- good downtown location, a little further away. 7.Holiday Inn Town Lake is $89.oo- north side of river and across both IH 35 and the lake from the Wellsley 8.La Quinta Oltorf is $59.00 9.The new Convention Center Hilton is $149. good location for walking around 6th street. 10. Hearthside Suites are very cheap if you call direct; not as well located. Basically you will need a car to get around for dining and entertainment other than the One World show unless you stay at the Driskill (a fine old historic hotel) on 6th streetalso recommended, the Radisson on Congress by town lake. Of course there is a four seasons if you must splurge. The coolest area is "soco" (South Congress) and the very hippest hotel in town is the San Jose on South Congress;many musicians who have made it chose this bungalow style hotel whose prices reflect its patrons bank accounts. It's this hotel the Mavericks sing of on their last cd- across from the Continental Club, down the street from Guero's, next door to Jo's coffee... Contact me thru the message board if any other help is needed on hotels, dining, sightseeing!"Tejas" means friend!

texas Tour atill in the works- lsightly altered fom my previous post.
Houston show was cancelled - issues at the venue & the band was re-scehduled for Tues 4/27 in Dallas TX at the Grenada Theater on Lower Greenville Ave.
According to Featbase, the Feat have not played Dallas itself since 1998. So this is long overdue- hope all you Dallas & Metroplex folks get out to see them in their only area appearence scheduled.
So POC is needed for Dallas TX Tues night show. Let me know if you can do it.
We need to do the email signup thing at the theater so we can reach out to N. Tx. fans.
Thanks, Clara

I love cool old theaters & wish I could make it up there. I was going to be at a Tues show in Houston since the venue was only 5 miles from my house, but a Tues show in Dallas - no can do. I'll be saving my energy for the rest of the Texas swing and trip back to NO.
We got you down as the POC helper, Mike. Check in with Denny & have fun!

Not too worried- I am in Training the weekend before - 3 days out at the Farigrounds for JazzFest. 5 days in NO. I'll be just hitting my stride or too pooped to party. NOT!! MHG says she is going to "tone it down" for the Alamo tour. I havent been on her Alamo tour yet- so should be fun. We will indoctrinate y'all in much Texas history- you'll probably be glad to leave the state & won't come back. I must see if the Menger Bar is open in the afternoon- Teddy Roosevelt formed the Rough Riders there.

CCC wonders if the Menger Bar is open in the afternoon...I know the answer! It's a perfect spot for a "medicinal" shot....errr... i mean spot of something cool and wet after remembering the Alamo! If the Menger Bar had been open in 1836, who knows what might have happened in ol' San Antone de Bexar? Pres Clinton stopped at the Menger for some famous mango ice cream but the Texas Twistahs won't be checking the dessert menu!
