Naw, Tipi, I didn't think we'd be eating at the Peilcan Bar, just might have to return to the scene of the crime as it were - might be a fun photo op if we're wandering by, grab a martini or three, etc.
I'll make a note of the restaurants - Mr B's is where Charlie and I ate a few years ago, and BFBob zipped in to say hello while you were in the car I think. tanx!
Here's an idea - the grassroots team, with Rick and Chris C leading the way, is working on a slick Feat live music compilation for us FeatFans to burn copies of and hand out at other bands' shows - a freebie introduction to the Feat experience as it were. If we get our game plan figured out soon enough, which we will, Jazz Fest may be a fabulous place to spread this disc among the music lovers all around there. One comment - we probably wouldn't hand this out at the Southport Hall show because I bet Denny will have Feat CDs for sale - we don't want to divert people from buying their merch.
What do you folks think about this idea?

Yeah, Tipi - what is this free subdudes stuff? Or is that the Tipiboy special? The Parish is a pretty cool place, tho small, and Jon Cleary is playing there late - I wonder if Bonnie would drop by?
BTW, what are the particulars on Lounge Lizards? Is it just a club/bar? Do they have any good snacks? It's good to be armed with knowledge down in the quarter...
hey everyone - check the box below so you can follow the posts to this thread and stay up to date.

Yes Mac ... I am afraid this is just more of the 'groovy' that sticks too me 'cause I know Leila & Christopher! Just a few months ago the HOB was actively attacking Lounge Lizards on general princaple ... now that they know Leila and Christopher ... I will have trouble getting them (HOB) to take my money. Lounge Lizards Had a restaurant (Mr Christopher was a chef at the affore-mentioned Mr B's) ... but that was before they realized how fast The Club part would take off. Decided it was too much and canned the kitchen. Would have been 'the only' option ... but They are much happier sinced they decreased the crazy factor. As it's "their' Groovy that does so much magic down there ... It is not in my power too offer to pass the groovy around. That does Not mean that I won't have the ability once there. Any sense? I Do have the ability to offer a Drink on me @ Lounge Lizards! Just ask for me at the bar ... (Todd not Tipiboy:) and I'll either be right there ... Or the lovely bartender will happily befriend you And give you a drink! hehehe S'ok ... I confuse myself! T

Brilliant! I have in the past handed out Jazzfest compilation Cds that Superfly makes available at their shows ... featuring a track from all of their fav bands.
Having a killer compilation of Feat to pass out ... complete with prior band approval ... I could get it too some of those extra groovies L&C hang with. Other 'regular' jazzfest fans ... I'm seeing a sign on me @ the Festival saying "Ask me for a Free Little Feat CD!" Brilliant! T

Todd, he so funny! The canned kitchen move makes sense. We're not trying to infringe on anyone's 'groovy' - but you do have our cell #s - hehe. As for the Feat CD compilation and getting you (& Lounge Lizards!) copies - we will make it happen. So let it be burned - so let it be done! MD

sheesh hank - I wonder too Hey folks - I just found this thread at Pet de Kat Krewe's Delphi Forum: forums.delphiforums.com/petdekat/messages?webtag=petdekatLook in the 2004 New Orleans Jazz Fest folder (left side) then under What night shows ya planning on? There are comments about what the cops are like in Jefferson County - where Southport Hall is, and about the past problems and possible upgrade of the sound system at the Hall. Also, several of these pro festivalists are planning on catching Little Feat. Way cool. You might wish to browse thru for important pointers. It sounds as if the cops like to harrass partiers, under a cloud of suspicion you might say. Word to the wise... better warn the band.... he he (close the door!) Mac

OK gang - reply to this post or email me directly if you want to be included in our 6pm-ish dinner group. It looks like, after much research, I will be contacting Zachary's Creole Cuisine at 8400 Oak Street (see this map - tinyurl.com/3fyfv) to make reservations for Saturday night May 1. I will wait a coupla days, but I think we need to move and call soon. This restaurant (http://tinyurl.com/3ffxx) is extremely close to Southport Hall (200 Monticello Ave.), has fair prices and a decent reputation. I've heard several bad things about Jacques-Imo's - too difficult to weed through any BS, don't want to take a chance on bombing out or long delays getting food. Also, Southport Hall has some kind of eats, probably along these lines from their parties options page: Hors d' oeuvres - Pizza, Buffalo Wings, Chicken Tenders, Cheese Sticks, Jambalaya, Onion Mums More on Southport Hall: www.newsouthport.com/tinyurl.com/2wlnjIf we have enough people, I may be able to get us a separate dining room at Zachary's, depending on what they offer and cost. We have not coordinated with Denny yet, so we may shift gears if he suggests other arrangements or needs help. We should be able to get to the Hall by 7:30 or 8 as it stands. I think these clubs run on New Orleans time, so the Feat may not start until 9:30pm - to be confirmed with the HMFIC. can't wait to get this party started... Mac

now THAT was interesting ... in my previous post I used the more formal term for drinks one would have in a social situation: that would be "co" followed by "ck" followed by "tails" ... now, I know I didn't type "thingytails", so obviously this board has some sort of filter that takes an "objectionable" word, such as that slang term for the male organ (no, NOT the B3), and changes it into "thingy" ... so I guess if one were to wax poetic and refer to a rooster crowing at dawn, it would end up being "the thingy crowed at dawn" ... let's try it:
the thingy crowed at dawn
hmmm ...
