I'll second those thoughts and prayers, nycfeat!!!!
My brother and his wife and her family live in Metairie just outside N'awlins and getting info on what happened (and is happening) in their neighborhood has been very difficult. Most importantly everyone is fine from the last update I received. My brother and his wife and the rest of the family(except for his mother and father in law)evacuated west to Houston and will stay there until it is safe to return I guess.
I am up here in Canada and feel like I have been affected(obviously indirectly)by Hurricane Katrina. It is an incredibly helpless feeling not being able to do anything and basically watch CNN and do the best I can to carry on through some semblance of a normal routine.
I find myself praying periodically through the run of the last few days for my brother and his family and for all those affected along the Gulf Coast. Most of my waking thoughts right now are focused on those unfortunate souls. Godspeed y'all!!!!!!
If there is anybody out there in Featdom that has any further info on what is happening in the Metairie area/Jefferson Parish OR you just want to converse/ commiserate on this subject could you reply with a post here or send me an email or private message?
I'd greatly appreciate any kind of contact regarding this situation or any updated info that I might not otherwise be able to get from CNN(or any other TV station)or from the web on nola.com
Peace, Prayers and Positive Thoughts for the victims and their families of Hurricane Katrina
Pete

A site for the whereabouts and accounted for of displaced NOLA musicians. www.tiannahall.com/NOAHleansfriends.htmlI heard Harry Connick Jr. on Larry King tell the story of how Charmaine Neville "borrowed" an abandoned city bus and loaded it with a bunch of old people from her neighborhood and drove em to Baton Rouge when the levees started breaking. ;D You just gotta love those Neville's!!! If they're not singing like angels, they're using their noggins for the good.
