None of the 5-6 shows in circulation are of great sonic quality, but they can be aquired. Check out the lists on Phishhook.com or db.etree.org. For what it's worth, having a copy of the solo LP/CD, "Thanks, I'll Eat It Here" will cover 80% of what is found on the live recordings, and will sound much better.

I agree with DPK, nothing out there that I have heard live is on par with the studio album, which is still one of my favorites of all time.

On the other hand, there is something to be said for "being there" and hearing some loopy hippie chick yell out to Lowell and call him a F*cker ;D... Still, if you'r after a memorable quality performance I just don't know where it is from the solo tour. I could be wrong

IMHO, the beauty of the live shows is hearing how the Feat tunes became something with a female vocalist and sax available on all songs. I can remember back when I joined the HoyHoy digest (around '96 or '97 I think) that I had mentioned they should have a boxed set because I knew Lowell was constantly rewriting and rerecording tunes. Look at Willin', Cold, Cold, Cold/Tripe Face Boogie and Two Trains from the officially released material (pre box set) not to mention what was on Hoy Hoy. And sure enough, the box set was loaded with outtakes (and in some cases complete songs that became something else, like Spanish Moon using lines that were originally used in Doraville or Front Page News) and other great stuff. But then again, that's just me. And that's just my opinion.

You guys might want to visit Dimeadozen and download this: artist: Lowell George date: 1979-06-22 venue: WHCN studio, Hartford, CT
source: FM broadcast lineage: trade CD-R > EAC > .wav > (...edit...) > FLAC frontend (comp. leve: 6) > .flac time: 18m17s sound quality: fair
notes: This torrent contains NO music. But ardent fans will be able to enjoy a revealing INTERVIEW with Lowell George in this torrent. According to "www.featbase.net", this interview was aired on the radio station WHCN on the late afternoon prior to the evening show at the hard Rock Cafe in West Hartford, CT. Lowell talked about Frank Zappa, Little Feat, Jackson Browne, his solo activity and so on. In the radio show, their some tunes were inserted between the interview. But the tunes were removed, because they were from the official releases.

OK - who wants a copy? Or - who wants to set up a vine and pass a copy around? E-mail me off board and I will happily set it up.
