Some torrent sites are going down and it's the ones that have to have a worry that there are non-tape friendly bands in their archives.
There are other alternatives like the Live Music Archive over at archive.org. They ain't going anywhere and they will supply a band as much disc space as they need to fully archive their live performances. It's the Lirbrary of Congress and they've got it pretty well together and there are just a ton of really good shows available for download.
sugarmegs.org has been around for awhile and there are alot of downloadable shows avaialble.
There's a link off to further.net which is another fine source for tunes.
bittorrent is going anywhere, it's just morphing into the next level. It is by far the most effecient method of moving big files around on the internet. Nothing else comes close to it's speed and accuracy.
