I gotta tell ya i volunteered at this show and it was with out a sound check and I was treated like shit by feats folks even after doing promo postering for the show & to see it On a torrent sorta kills the fun of trades this really has shook my love for this band and will be my last post.& last time I Volunteer for Feat JBBSS Can you spell BIPOLAR? I went back and read all this guys posts and he reported: >> oh and it was a very nice crowd >> there but set list was abit of a >> bore IMHO on the Feat's set Dickeys was better The other posts he laments that he doesn't use torrents or SHN downloads and that it's a shame that everyone uses them. Hey buddy, how's that buggy whip work on the Dodge??? It's been my experience that whatever you put out in life is what you get back. If you got treated "like shit" I'm sure it's not the first time for that to happen to you. pop

If there is anyone who prefers trades or BnP to torrents I have a copy of the Columbus show and will offer it up.

very grown up reply I was treated only badly by feat folks as your reply shows I have done B&P to many on this show and Yes the crowd was good they came from Northside and most there folks I knew that saw the posters I put up that a I got from other volunteers that also sent them to me as to rude just like this rude reply has only been from Feat related asses that treat folks as you do and to get what you put out thats why only under 300 hundred posts here and there old site had ten times that you get what you treat folks like if you don't like downloads then you don't like them shorten or SHN isn't very good qty lossless or not get with the best source 24/16 audio not the small file openning up to large file Qty loss is about the Same as your civil loss over the Years after deep south took over its not record companys that did your band wrong its the lack of common sence the venue was great- Feats staff didn't do a sound check and it showed as dose your lack of common civil tone,do soundchecks and be kind to your volunteers its not hard as being a hard ass to Traders NOT DownLoaders who don't go to yours shows when they can down load but that would be to civil for that ass to do.

well, I'm not sure what your complaint(s) are (mostly because your rant is so badly written), but I can tell you that
- the band always does a sound check unless circumstances prevent it
- I have never seen the band or anyone else be anything but friendly and appreciative of all volunteers ... I have, however, seen volunteers who assumed that because they put up a few posters or manned a clipboard that they were owed ass kissing, front row seats and free admission; I hope you weren't one of those ...
- what difference does the number of posts make? it's not a competition with sucess measured by quantity ... better fewer posts than some of the ones I've read lately
- B&P trading, downloading ... what the hell's the difference? the idea is to spread the music by whatever means necessary.
soo, I'm not really sure what your problem is/was, but your choice is simple: either lose the attitude and join the rest of us or keep being annoying and miserable.
seems like a no-brainer of a choice, doesn't it?

no I didn't ask for free anything because I did posters I was there they said to be at the show to do set up work and was in no short order rudely treated but I was warnd that that could happen then set up guy was rushed so I backed off as to posts there low because of new set up is the new format and I didn't bring up the manor of trades I'm again any dowm loading of music but thats my feels which i have expressed only about trades I've posted. To be civil when someone is where you tell them to be just isn't anything i've seen before weather its at shelters for pets or where i've been, but to be at the place your told by one volunteer and then have the groups person jump you because your not that person well thats rude.but I was told that this was possable and yes when i can't spell well having had a stroke, when I get taken though mean replys.the fact is if you don't look like your folks and are dis-able one dosen't think its civil to be addressed in this manor i don't want anything from the group as i did leave after show ended and didn't get anything from them and yes they had troubles they there they didn't get a sound check maybe thats the reason,or the fact that Cd sales stand iwas there to help set up wasn't done at time gate openned and fan's didn't get cd's fro there staff, but thats why I was there the fact they sent me away still makes me wonder since thats apart of what I was asked to do?Karen did show but by then I was just trying to understand what was up with the guy having a heart attack.and had to just watch and leave i didn't go back and have them sign one of the poster for PBS as I had asked and they agreed to since I volunteer for them as well since I was scarced to deaf of the staff member who handed my head on a plate for going there I was first asked to before show started! i was treated like I've never seen anyone,i don't know if this is norn.I didn't go there with wants or chip on my shoulder.but I do see one on the staffs, when I state that this wasn't what you do to volunteers I do try don't fly off the handle when the reply post I see was being reading as you how my past posts are looked over yes I don't torrent but if you like to fine the show is as i stated on my post here thats all great venue boring set list and band didn't do a sound check and treated one of there Newbie volunteers like dirt, under the heat in 20/20 hindsight because of it. the band has always been kind the other times in volunteer works I've been on and asked for,so thats what the real world of putting on a show i'm sure this happens from time to time.

whew ... this one was even tougher to wade through (punctuation is really useful, as are paragraphs) ... I'm not entirely sure who it was you ran into, but I think the "set up guy" sounds like Denny, who is Feat's road manager; "rushed", "the guy having a heart attack" all sound like Denny when he's dealing with merch or money, and that is definitely the time to stay away from Denny.
I'm really am sorry you feel mis-used, and to some degree I can understand why (what you should have done is find the POC and ask him/her for instructions, instead of approaching Denny directly while he was setting up). don't give up on volunteering, just don't try to step right in to the middle of things if Denny doesn't know you; I can't begin to describe how many details he juggles at one time, but it is a constant source of amazement to anyone who sees it. he has so little time to get things done that it does make him intolerent of distractions, and even the most well-meaning volunteers in need of direction can be a major distraction.
hey, in any pond it's hard to know where the stepping stones are at first ... staying back and observing works better than plunging in.

the band has always been kind the other times in volunteer works I've been on and asked for,so thats what the real world of putting on a show i'm sure this happens from time to time. Hi everybody! I have been busy and away lately. I would like to let everyone in on a little secret. I have discovered a new super power! I am unable to be annoyed! The first secret is to hear the good stuff and let the bad stuff roll off your back. Above is what I heard. That's very understanding of you tenlamb, thanks! I too have felt unappreciated at shows, but like featphoto suggests, maybe you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. And as you suggest, in the real world of putting on a show, it happens from time to time. I am sorry you had a stroke! That has got to be a source of frustration. Indeed I think the reason you feel like you are getting slammed here might be in large part because of what your stroke has done to your spelling/typing skills. While I am sure it is MORE frustrating for you typing, I fear that it was frustrating for the folks here to read such hard words aimed at the band we love, especially because it was Hard To Read. That's what I choose to believe, I hope you can believe it too tenlamb! If you can manage to get past it, I suggest THERE IS a huge group of loving caring people here. If I had a stroke they are just the kind of people I would hope to find to make it easier to deal with the frustrations having a stroke must bring. I hope everyone gets better every day, Peace Todd
