Howdy neighbor! This is my plan: Walker Mn, Moondance Jam 7-15 Des Moines, Simon E. 7-16 Sioux Falls, Jazz Fest 7-17 This will involve a single engine flying machine... if I'm lucky, an '88 LTD if not... and loads of stimulant! I'll have some sort of recording device(s) so I'm sure we can work out something. Don't forget the two shows in Aug at the Minnie State Fair. (I could crawl to those ) What ever comes of these I'll post on my list at www.phishhook.com/lists/dpaulkucheck it out now and get a BnP going if you like. Welcome to the board Dave

Just thinking ahead a bit... if my friend and I fly down from the TCs, how hard is it to get a car at the airport and is it far to the venue?
Also this may be read as a preliminary offer to anyone who may want to ride along... either overland as I breeze through from Moondance up Nort or by Piper Navajo from Mankato... Just testing for interest at this time.

Dave, The Des Moines airport has rentals on-site but I have never been to the venue and am not that familiar with the city to help you out with venue location and/or distance. Consult www.mapsonus.com or others in the genre for help in that regard. BTW, what time will you be arriving? We could have a cold one before showtime if you'd like. Tim

ETA is unknown, Tim... now if you picked us up at the airport.... ;D
Seriously, nothing has been firmed up. I may end up driving down from Walker and in that case coffee would prolly be required first!
I'll PM you if you like when things get closer.
See ya

If catchin' a ride from the airport would help, I'd be glad to oblige. My plan is to be flexible so just keep me informed.
Tim

I drove a neighbor to the Des Moines airport yesterday and while there, checked out the location of the venue the Feat play at the 16th of July. It is right against the river with the water as a backdrop. The seating is all grass with a slope down toward the stage. Looks like ample parking directly across the street. You can find it at the corner of 1st and Locust not far from the state capital building.
The airport has rental cars available in the main terminal and the venue is maybe 15 or 20 minutes from there. It is just a jog north on Fleur Drive and then a right hand turn onto Locust. That whizzes you right to the venue (as well as giving you a tour of downtown Des Moines, if that has any value.)
My ticket is on order with Iowatickets or some such thing. The link on the Tour page will lead you to the venue's home page (Simon Estes River Ampitheater) and they, in turn, have a link to purchase tickets. I noticed Sonia Dada is playing there soon. Too bad I don't live closer!
Hoys,
TB
BTW, is there a POC for this gig? It is still a month away but it would be nice to start hearing some rumblings from fellow featsters who plan on attending.

Hey Ted Thanks for the tour POC for this show is Joel Emery Go here www.poccentral.com/umidwest.asp?region=Upper+Midwest to see the midwest region's POC list. It's looking like I'll be driving down to D.M. so I won't be needing transport from/2 the airport... drat. Countin' the days as I work my fingers to the bone See ya!
