This is the time of year that local stations and papers come out with their view of top cds, songs, and concerts of the year . In a town that enjoys so many acts nightly, and in a year when a lot of benefits featured stunning lineups, I am proud that KGSR, 107.1, has Little Feat at #8!!!
who beat them?- well- an entire festival, for one!
THE TOP 10 CONCERTS OF 2005 1. ACL: Coldplay 2. ACL Festival 2005 3. ACL: John Prine 4. KGSR 15th Anniversary Show 5. John Hiatt (with Sonny Landreth & The Goners) @ Stubbs’ 6. Tsunami Relief @ Austin Music Hall 7. Emmylou Harris & Patty Griffin @ Paramount Theater 8. Little Feat @ Austin Music Hall 9. Nickel Creek @ Stubb’s 10. ACL: Lyle Lovett & His Large Band
Would like to see yall's posts on your city's greatest shows.

That's good company. For Dallas in 2005: 1) Little Feat - The Granada Theater 2) ?... I'm not sure they had 9 more. ;D Dallas has gotten pretty tired at promoting. I don't believe Landreth has ever played Dallas. (3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Longhorns 9 to 7 ) 2:34 left...make that 16 to 7!!!

hey Mike, I bet Jimmy LaFave on New Years Eve was #2. and the Subdudes at the Granada were #3, Reckless Kelly at the Granada was #4, and Monte Montgomery at the Granada was #5...and even tho we don't see eye to eye on Ray Wylie Hubbard, I bet he was at least tied with #3.
After last night's game,(YEEHA! thank you Vince!) I had a phone call from an anonymous friend who started singing the Ray Wylie version of the Texas National Anthem....nope, not "up against the wall redneck mothers"...it was the newer one, off "GROWL"... a copy of which was given to the HMFIC last year. And a copy of the same song's bumper sticker was supposedly put on a Texan keyboard player's equipment box......Hook em horns!
Of course, when Kinky is Governor, he can appoint featfanMike the booking agent for the metroplex, and we won't go a year between Feat shows!

Hey, I want a bumper sticker for "Trigger"! Thanks for the Dallas line-up. Shows you how much I get out anymore. Kinky's got competition with Strayhorn switching to the Independent ticket. Damn Repub's can't make up their mind. I wonder if she'll appoint me booking agent of DFW? BTW- Hello from the Quality Inn on Hwy 2222 tonight. On my way to San Antonio tomorrow. If I can shake loose early enough I'll call you. I'll buy. DON'T THE ORANGE UT TOWER LOOK COOOOOOL!!! (UT Baseball Team ranked...#1.)
