Hoys to all ya'll, I've been in contact with Rocky (the band's drum and percussion tech) and he and the family are safe and sound in a Houston motel. The Tornabene's live in Slidell, LA and it sure looking like their neighborhood took an absolute pounding. The news from Slidell is sparse but it's clear that the whole town is flooded and the storm surge/wind damage is catastrophic. From what we've heard, the stuff that they have with them at the motel is now all the stuff that they have. Jeff Bollers (the light guy for Little Feat) emailed me this AM and put forth the idea of gathering some donations for Rocky and the girls. Towards that effort, we have put up this web page: rocky.richiehayward.com/katrina_rocky.htmPlease take a second and click on over and throw a little something in the hat. It only takes a minute and every little bit is going to help them get back up on their feet. The two hurricanes that we lived through last year were mere thunderstorms compared to what I'm seeing on the idiot box. I just can't believe my eyes. We're still feeling the repercussions of last years hurricanes now. The Gulf Coast is gonna have a long row to hoe.

Jazzfest is on! nojazzfest.com T Man, what a line up! I noticed sadly that Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown was booked. BTW, I saw Allen Toussaint on Good Morning America a couple of weeks ago. He did one of my all time fave Robert Palmer with Feat covers, "Riverboat" from Pressure Drop.
