Earlier today my wife, oldest son, and I were at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, and finding ourselves hungry, decided to get something to eat at a restaurant there called Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.The restaurant's theme is 100% from the movie Forrest Gump ie the food, the decor - the waitress/waiter will at some point during your visit even come over and ask you a half-dozen or so Forrest Gump trivia questions. If you're seated near a television, the movie Forrest Gump plays continuously during their business hours. We weren't near a television this time, but we were seated directly below some JBL speakers, and the folks at Bubba Gump don't seem to mind turning up the volume more than most restaurants. As we were being seated, the music pouring forth from the speakers (and throughout the restaurant) was none other than Two Trains (the studio version from Dixie Chicken). Cool, I thought to myself. Ten minutes passed, and we'd heard a couple of zydeco tunes from Clifton Chenier and Buckwheat Zydeco, as well as a song from Dwight Yoakam that was more Cajun than Country, and all of a sudden we were bestowed with another Feat song. This time it was Time Loves a Hero. Again it was the studio cut from the original album. Following the meal I complimented the staff on the musical selections as well as the food and service. If there's a Bubba Gump's near you, check it out. The food's pretty good, and the music will rival Famous Dave's Barbeque, which will be cranking out blues and zydeco. - chadgumbo
