Hoy Hoy All The question below came up in my recent reading and I couldn't find an existing thread that would cover this question. I do think it would be interesting to know about other sessions in which the band members have participated. Webmaster if I have started a redundant thread please don't hesitate to move this inquiry. Thank You. I just finished a book by Kinky Friedman "Ten Little New Yorkers" and in it he made mention of a session at The Band's studio near Malibu called Shangri-La (?). This session was for an albumn of Kinky's about 30 years ago (unnamed) and included the following musicians: Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson, Ron Wood, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Van Dyke Parks, and LOWELL GEORGE among others; Kinky sang. They allegedly did a song called "Kinky" written by Ronnie Hawkins. Is this session a figment of Kinky's fertile imagination or do any of you Feat experts know if it in fact happened? If any of you have any other details (has anyone heard the song, or do you know the albumn this cut appears on) please let us know. I don't know if this was a real session but if it was don't you wish you could have been a fly on the wall? Peace j

Somtimes you have to wonder what all Kinky puts in them ceeegars, but I can believe that happened. I think maybe it's no irony that my favorite two Robert Palmer records are "Sneakin Sally..." and "Pressure Drop". The two where LF were basically the band behind a different singer.

Mike,
I didn't know that about the two R Palmer cuts but I've always thought the same thing, his two best cuts. Good help; helps.
Kinky ain't tellin' what's in his ceeears either so we'll just have to wonder. But he does hang around with Willie and most people can't hang with Willie, you've heard the song, so Kinky gotta be tough.
Peace j

The Little Feat Discography www.littlefeat.net/new_lfd1.html--------------------------------------- I think maybe it's no irony that my favorite two Robert Palmer records are "Sneakin Sally..." and "Pressure Drop". The two where LF were basically the band behind a different singer. Robert Palmer - Pressure Drop (1975) w/ Little Feat ! Robert Palmer - Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley (1974) not w/ Little Feat - Paul Barrere: "only Lowell and The Meters on that record" involution.com/hoyhoy/hoyhoy.php?dn=2056( involution.com/hoyhoy/hoyhoy.php?dn=2055 ) - Bill Payne: "I started touring with Bonnie Raitt. Lowell was in New Orleans working with The Meters and Allen Toussaint on a Robert Palmer record called Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley—a wonderful record" mixonline.com/ar/audio_little_feat/
