Cept it's happening in Memphis. Here's a short quote from a web blog I follow:
In more uplifting news, I learned today that the annual Voodoo Fest, which is generally held at City Park the weekend prior to Halloween, has been moved to Memphis. One of the main headliners, and former resident of New Orleans, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, has spear-headed the effort to keep the show going in a different venue. Reznor is quoted on their website as saying "Its great that other cities have opened their doors to this years event, and the New Orleans spirit will definitely remain in the air - thats something the floods cannot wash away. We are going to be a part of the rebuilding process and are asking the entire music community to join us."
This years event will feature national and international headliners, including Nine Inch Nails, Billy Idol and the Flamming Lips. However, as with every other Voodoo Fest lineup, the showcase will be on local talents such as Kermit Ruffins, Cowboy Mouth, Morning 40 Federation and Ballzack. WWOZ, the New Orleans non-profit Jazz and Heritage radio station (http://www.wwoz.org/) will also have a tent on site in order to help gather support and rebuild the legacy of one of the worlds greatest member-supported radio stations.
All proceeds from this years Voodoo Fest will be donated to the New Orleans Restoration Fund (NORF). I have also heard unconfirmed rumors that most of the bands in this years lineup are playing for free in order to further help the cause.
