Hoys to all! I hope you all (well, 460 of you) are planning to be in Seattle on February 16th to welcome Little Feat back from their Jamaican excursion! They are playing once again at the Triple Door in downtown Seattle, next to Benaroya (symphony) Hall. If anyone needs driving directions or hotel info please contact me at gwcooper(at)msn(dot)com.
Here's some info about the venue:
a.. NO taping or photos allowed. No patching off the
Soundboard, Nothing!
b.. NO tickets sold in advance. The Triple Door is like a
dinner theater. You make _reservations_ by calling (206)-838-4333. You can cancel up to 24 hours before the show. If you don't cancel, your credit card will be charged whether or not you make the show.
c.. Two shows, separate admission charges for each. Even if you have reservations for both shows you are kicked out to the bar between sets. Frankly, the bar may be more interesting than the performance space at that time. All charges (cover, food, and drink) are on one bill, which must be settled at the end of _each_ set.
d.. There are NO bad seats. The venue is pretty small (230 seats!), and is set up with tables (or booths) and chairs. I guess a 'bad' seat would be one where you had to look to your side to see the band. It's pretty much first come, first served for seating choices.
e.. It is pricey. This year the cover charge is $45. Food and drink extra. The Triple Door is owned by the people who own Wild Ginger, consistently one of Seattle's _best_ restaurants. They share a kitchen. Consequently, the food is quite good, and is reasonably priced for the quality of the dish. (Except for desserts, which are even higher priced than normal for 'good'
restaurants.) Drinks are slightly high but not exorbitant. As opposed to the drinkers, who might be _more_ than slightly high.
f.. The bar opens for lunch and stays open. Doors to the music room open at 6 PM. First set starts at 7 PM, ends between 8:30 and 9 PM. Second show starts at 10:00 PM, ends around (before) midnight.
g.. The first set is 'all ages', but the second set is 21+ only. I highly recommend the second set, as in the past they have been (to quote the fabulous 1R)."distinctive"
h.. There is a parking garage next door, that stays open a reasonable amount of time after the second set ends. The venue also offers valet parking.
Eleven months between Feat Fixes is really too long, but it looks like I'll make it. See you there! from Glenn near Seattle
