Another great show. Small intimate venue, great sightlines, wonderful sound. Once again, kudos to Howard for the mix and for editing and autographing his personal setlist for my wife, Donna.
Hate To Lose Honest Man Rocket in my Pocket The Blues don't tell it all Roll em Easy Willin>Bogart>Long Black Veil>The Weight>Willin Old Folks Boogie Put Me Ouf of Misery w/ Stephen Bruton Bigger Wheel w/Stephen Bruton Cajun Girl On Your Way Down w/Jerry ? from Louisiana on sax Dixie Chicken>bass>keys>Tennessee Jed>Dixie Chicken w/Jerry encore: Oh, Atlanta (think Jerry was on this one, too)
This could be slightly out of order as the band seemed to be changing the setlist as they went. That's OK with me...they seem to know what they're doing. The Greyhounds opened before Stephen Bruton and they were as good as I remember from them opening the Derek Trucks shows awhile back. See 'em if you get a chance.
Fun meet and greet at Snuffer's with MG, Rollin' Mark, Mike and his wife (sorry, terrible with names) and Mark joining us (Jeff and Donna) for some food, drinks, conversation and more of MG's special 'social shots' in the lot before the show. Lookin' forward to seeing you guys again (maybe we can save enough pennies to make it to Jamaica).

Hey Gringo..those were "shocial sots" ;D I'm convinced that if this group had a drummer that could keep time, and a road manager that was organized they would have a bright future. ;D JUST KIDDING IN THE MOST RIDICULOUS WAY...OF COURSE!!! This is a whole traveling group of Giants! I'm always in awe, yet they're regular nice and genuine folks. We discussed it this morning, and if we can talk the band into it we'd like to do this once a month at least. Hey, if we can run Kinky for Governor we can wish for anything. Every time I see the Feat, since '73 they're a little tighter when I thought in the '70's that couldn't be done. The next level is never a task for these guys! I guess the main word I would use for last nights show would be...FUN!!! I regret that I didn't get a count, but the place was bulging. With a sea of heads bobbing, butts rocking, and of course the uncontrollable snake necking...all together. Amazing! I think we did well at the merch table before we starting running out of "Feat Stuff" right at the end. Denny can inventory! Everybody's voices were right on. The sound was perfectly (to my ears anyway) mixed. The Granada is a great place for sound, sight, and seats. And of course the groove was groovy. Man was it groovy! Lot's of young folks in the crowd asking "how soon will they be back?" After having an excellent acoustic set of his own, Stephen Bruton came back out with Feat for a couple of songs with a blistering "Bigger Wheel". What a guy! Course he's a local... And we're damn proud of him round these parts. The Greyhounds sounded great, and Fred came out with his trumpet for a couple of tunes. Yep..after seeing special guests MG, Rollin, Dancing Tonya and others off to airports and such, it's kinda like Christmas afternoon...man this is sweet aftermath, but somebody hit "rewind" and let's do it again.

Sounds like a great show. One of my favorite little bands, The Greyhounds, seem like they made a few new friends too. Any chance that Fred's contribution made it to tape? I'd love to hear that mix.
