Hello!
Posting some info regarding the upcoming show in Norwalk, Connecticut on Sunday, September 11th.
Little Feat are playing at the 28th annual Norwalk Oyster Festival at Veteran's Park which is located on the shores of Long Island Sound. The Festival starts on Friday the 9th with entertainment beginning at 6pm, continues on Saturday from 11am until 11pm and finishes up on Sunday night with Little Feat.
I will post below in this thread information including directions, parking, transportation, as well as other general info regarding the festival. If there is any specific questions anyone has, please let me know.
Unfortunately, my computer time tonight is limited, so my first post will be a bit brief, but I'll be back regularly to update regularly from now through Sunday.
First off - here is a link to the Festival's homepage:
www.seaport.org/history.htm
There is information on directions, parking, and a schedule of additional entertainment that will occur throughout the three day Festival.
The Festival is in Norwalk, Connecticut which can best be reached by Metro North railroad or either of the two main highways that access lower Connecticut ~ Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway.
Most attendees, and especially those traveling in from out of town, park their cars at one of the five parking lots that are located throughout the City of Norwalk and use the frequent & free shuttle buses to get to Veteran's Park. The nearest lot is only minutes from the park.
PLEASE NOTE: There is NO parking at the Festival site ~ pretty much your only other options to get to the site is to park in town and take a cab, or to have a friend drop you off. I will post more info on where you might be able to find parking in town if you'd like to stop there and find a cab, however most locals prefer to drive to the parking lot nearest them and take the free shuttle.
Admission to the Festival, which includes all entertainment, is:
General Admission - $10.00
Seniors: $6.00
Children 5-12 years - $3.00
Children under 5 years - Free
Advance Ticket - $8.00
(please see the Oyster Festival website to find a pre-sale location; I will post them shortly, but note that most are located in Fairfield County, Connecticut).
I will be back on Wednesday morning with additional information. Until then please let me know if you have any questions or need specific info.
Thanks Alot!!
Take care,
John Mac
P.S. The weather report for Sunday by Weather.com is calling for a sunny day, high temp of 80 with 0% chance of rain...WOO-HOO!! ;D
