;D Hot-Diggity-Dog.....Little Feat is coming back to one of my favorite venues, the Jefferson Center in Roanoke, Virginia on Friday, October 28th!! This event is not yet posted on The Tour section of this website, but it was noted in Sunday's edition of the Roanoke Times and tickets went on sale this morning. The best LF performance I've enjoyed was held here in the Spring, 2004. Tickets were sold out to about 950 fans a couple of weeks before the event. More info can be obtained and tickets can be purchased on the venue website, www.jeffcenter.org. I love the Loge seating section of this venue, which is a narrow extension of the balcony running down each side right up to and above the front row of the orchestra on the floor. The chairs are very large and upholstered with arms and can be moved around to make enough room to dance if you want to!! Last year we got the seats all the way to the front on the right side and I felt like I could reach over the railing and give Kenny a high-five!! This morning I called the box office when it opened at 8:30 and got those same exact seats!! Me and farmgirl are going to boogie again!!

;)Wanted to bump this thread back up the ladder as we get closer to the event date!! There won't be an opening act as there wasn't last year when LF played at this venue.....makes for more room for DaFeat!! ;D Not a bad seat in the house, but you'll want to get your tickets soon since it did sell out last year!!

Hello Gene !, I hope that you and the Mrs. are well ... I don't know if you'll remember, but you and I talked several times preceding last years' Jefferson Center show - as always, it was a great one ... We're all very excited to host The Feat in Roanoke again, and can't wait 'till the lights go down ... Give us a wave, we'll be in the loge seats directly across from ya ! Hope to see you there Buddy !!!
Ron
P.S. Let me know if you'd like to set up a pre-show party ...

Hello Ron, this is Gene. Farmboy is another Feat fanatic..hehe.
Anyway, I'm planning on being in Roanoke for the show but have had lots on the plate (both expected and unexpected), and have had difficulty in planning for this show.
I need some help!! The tix for this show are not selling out like they did last year, and I'd like to get some posters up in the area, but I live too far away. IF y'all can help out and live in the area, I'd sure appreciate it. email me off list at mistangene1@earthlink.net and we'll take care of the particulars.
For everyone out there planning to attend, let me hear from ya?
Ron, is there a place close by (maybe w/in walking distance) where some of the faithful can meet and greet for food and drink? If you want to help coordinate/assist with that it would be great. I'll most likely be busy counting/guarding/shuttling band merch or something like that.
One other thing...I still havent bought my tix yet and need to badly...when is the best time (and earliest) to call the box office and talk to a real person). I almost bought my tix online last week but there was no way to pick my seats. Y'all are right about the loge seats....I took a few pics from up there last year and they are among the few that I had enough light for, and the view was spectacular.
The last three days of this past week were pure hell and I had absolutely no time to address ticket matters or post messages about this show.
There is one more note of big news...Steven Bruton will open the show and will be joined by Feat's own Billy Payne.
That's all for now. Let me hear from y'all!!

;)As indicated on the home page of this site, Stephen Bruton is travelling with DaFeat on the Hot Tomato Bus and opening the shows on this latest leg of the Smooth Sailin' Tour. I had heard of him before since he is a buddy of Delbert McClinton and is one of the entertainers on the cruise that McClinton has for his fans every year. But I've not heard his music, so I bought the CD he just released - from the five. Before I even started to listen to it I knew I was going to like it because Billy Payne plays the keyboards on 11 of the 12 songs!! Bruton wrote all of the songs except one called Ordinary Man and on that song Billy really cuts loose and boogies like we all know he can!! ;D Bruton has some other excellant musicians accompanying him on this CD which really ROCKS and is well worth buying. Now I'm really looking forward to his opening preformance.....and I understand Billy will be joining with him for several licks!! ;D

Another Fort Worth home boy that we can't seem to get home. Bruton is currently living in Austin tho.

Hoys All !!! , Gene, I apologize for the mix-up buddy ! Also for the delay in posting ... , the schedule's been a bitch. In any event, for anyone interested in a pre-show cocktail and/or bite to eat, there's a place called Macado's on Church Ave. Church runs parallel to Campbell, which is the street that the venue is on. Macado's is about three or four blocks east of the venue (toward downtown) ... They have a room with a large bar, called Cuba Pete's (partially open air) - good food and deli sandwiches, a good selection of beers, and about anything that you could want in the liquor department. Plenty of room, parking, and fast service ... I'll see ya there around 6:30 !
P.S. Beer and liquor WILL be available at the venue.
