If you are planning to join us for the pre-show meet & greet, please let me know by Monday, so's I can give the venue a heads-up head count. You can answer here or you can email me directly at

Those of you who checked the website link provided by Steve Sea and Juanita (thanks folks), will notice what looks to be lots of parking lots in the vicinity. This is true, but the 2 caveats are timing and price. It's gonna be a regular work day in a major downtown area and, being July, there will still also be lots of "tourists" - with the aquarium, Inner Harbor and other attractions within walking distance.
The closest lot, on Frederick, attached to the venue, is likely to get full. It's only $5 after 5, but (a max of) $12 if you arrive early. It is a popular lot on a partially one-way street. If you feel lucky and don't mind the price, check there first if you're early, but be forewarned, several restaurants adjacent to the venue use it as a valet parking and it can get backed up and you can get blocked in, so I wouldn't recommend it for those with little patience.
If that's full or too congested, the one a block over on Gay Street (I'd suggest printing the map from the RH Live site) is $7 after 5 pm, with the same $12 max.
I got an e-mail asking about the metro. By all means, if you can make use of it, it would be your easiest, least expensive option. Baltimore does not have an extensive system and it does not connect easily with DC's (our Light Rail does instead), but it's reliable and much less frustrating than trying to navigate downtown during rush hour (3-6 pm).
I believe that the lots on Market St close at 11, but the show is scheduled 8-10, so if you don't stay too long afterward, they would be other options.
The Pier 5 lot at $5 is the easiest to get in and out of, but that rate is also after 5 pm and you've got to cross Lombard and Pratt against the traffic.
I believe that I can pre-pay the VIP upgrade but it will only be available if WRNR or another large group doesn't claim the lounge first.
The layout is unique at this venue. It's mostly SRO, but there are "bleachers" that face the stage and they're first come, so those of you who will be at the doors at 7 may have a shot at them. Some folks like to line the stairs/railing that runs up the sides of the stage (similar to the 9:30 Club), but like the bleachers, they have to be "staked out" and you run the risk of losing your spot for drink and bathroom runs. There are also 2 satellite bars with seating and tv screens, some folks like those spots, though personally I think the acoustics suffer.
Merch is a small area at the back of the room, run by the venue's own staff, but Juanita is POC and the box office manager already told me she's expecting to see Tony with his trademark CDs on the forehead, so whether we get a group into the VIP area or not, there will be plenty of our grassroots folks throughout the venue.
See you there.

I inquired today about the VIP area; it has not yet been rented for the show. So, the day of they said you can call the box office and upgrade your ticket for an additional $10 so you can be in the VIP area.
They also told me that there's a great Happy Hour that starts at 4pm. And then at 5pm, they put out free happy hour food. I think they said it was Carved Roast Beef?? Not too shabby!!
I've seen some awesome shows here- the service is great and there's never a line at the bar. It should be an awesome night. I'll try and get there at 5pm for the meet and greet.

We have radar lock! Tipi +1 at least ... as many as +4. I will be at soundcheck w/ accurate head count. Also Dewin Dewey ... Suggest I might have a good spot for the Think and Drink (like an after show meet & greet). Looks like I'll have a 2 floor suite across the street from the Cork, w/ Tequilla. I been up, but not like this before [now], T

It was a great show last night. There was a good showing of DC folks, as well as from Delaware and Philadelphia.
The Ram's Head Live is a new venue. It is an old building, but was completely remodeled inside. It is an "all stand" venue, not to large and not to small, and it has a great horse shoe-shaped balcony which is seatless l, with the exception of a decent size area of elevated bleacher seats directly above the stage on the second level.
I want to thank Dr. Juanita, and some of the other folks I met in the tavern prior to the show. Dr. Juanita organized the small meet and greet in the tavern prior to the show.
How was the show ? Great as usual. It's amazing how all these great people still do this so many nights a year, and STILL DO ENJOY IT. You can see it on their faces.
I had a chance to talk to Dennie Jones, as I usually do, and thanked him for keeping the gang in line. His is NOT an easy job. He IS THE BOSS on the road. And he does a damn good job of it, as well as beging one of the nicest guys I've met. THANKS AGAIN DENNIE ! CHEERS TO YOU !
Bottom line, I would say a good time was had by all.
(but watch out for that "house lager" if you go ...it put a major hurt on my head this morning !)
That's it.
For the CBS EVENING NEWS, this is Walter Cronkite reporting.
Have a good day. oxo.

Mike: I would say that your first show was an awesome one. I never get tired of how amazing the fabulous 7 is. Undeniably far greater than the sum of its parts and that's a mighty great sum.
Philsy: I cannot accept full credit for organizing the pre-show thang; Cherri was instrumental. Ins true mental.
It was great to meet Phil, George, John, Matt, Tim, Mary, Mike, Sacrlett, Harvey...and great to see pals, it's been too long.
