;DHot-diggity-dog they're comin' around to my neck of the woods again!! Charlotte is about 3 hours away from my farm and I've only driven by that city....but where the Feat are concerned I consider that well within my neck of the woods. The venue is The Neighborhood Theatre and appears to be located in a part of the city that has been going through a lot of renovation and restoration and the results have made it a favorite part of the city for the more artsy-oriented folks with a lot of art galleries and neat shops. Problem I'm having is locating a good place to stay. Does anyone have any suggestions....especially within close proximity to the theatre. I'm psyched.....me & farmgirl caught the Feat four times in '04.....here's the 1st for '05!! ;D

No good places around there...not really a place for anyone, farm or city boy late at night.
I suggest either Holiday Inn downtown..then you can check out bars right across street from there or hotels near UNCC.
See Ya there, Spyder

Farm boy, the Neighborhood Theatre has a deal with the Ramada Inn off Exit 41 on 85. It is only 1o minutes from the venue & rooms are cheap ($35 king & $37 double). Call (704) 596-2999 and make sure to mention The Neighborhood Theatre wehen you call...this will ensure you get the rates! See you at the show!

The neighborhood around the Neighborhood Theater is nothin to be too concerned about. Lots of friendly activity on a Saturday night...go to www.noda.org/ for more detailed info on places to grab a bite or a drink or both. All short walking distance. Accomodations can be a challenge only in that you may have to drive a few minutes to get there. And you probably would not want to stop along the way. As you have already read, the Ramada has a deal, but downtown Charlotte is a straight shot down and back on Davidson. There you will find all your favorite hotels, as nice or as cost-efficient as you want. Downtown Charlotte is easy to get to from I-85 or I-77.

Heading to Charlotte! Have loved Feat Music over the years but never seen them live. Finally gonna get the chance. Looking for a sweeeet time. Never been to the Neighborhood theater before. Are the seats you get thru the online reservations guaranteed to be in a certain spot or should we get there early to pick up tix at the will-call window and try to get the best spots available at that moment? Seems like they work it different for different shows. Thanks for any info.

Looks like there is going to be a good crowd at this gig. I'm bringing about a half dozen folks and hopefully meeting some 'ol friends from SC there as well (actually one is more than just a friend ). Anyhow, like Farmboy said...only standing room only left...about 10 days ago Lynn, the wonderfully nice lady that works there told me the seated tickets were almost gone and that by the week of the gig the place should sell out. If you are planning on coming, don't wast anymore time. Order your tix a.s.a.p. Okay you Foxes, what have y'all to say about the situation? I was looking for y'all at the beach Easter weekend when we weren't aligator watching. By the way Dee insists that we dine at the Cajun Queen Restaurant while in CLT. Gene

Hey Farmboy and everyone else planning on coming to CLT...
I'm sure there are plenty of meeting places closer to the Neighborhood Theatre, but theres a cajun Restaurant (Cajun Queen) about 3 miles away that is supposed to be really good. My significant other insisted that we go there sometime during our journey there, so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a Featfan Meet and greet there. If all goes according to what I've heard, I have about a half dozen friends in addition to the Featfan regulars who will be attending this show. thoughts??? anyone??

PRE-SHOW GATHERING ALERT![/b] As mentioned earlier.... Because other friends are scheduled to attend this show from far away places, and because I need to coordinate ticket purchasers with my friend who has the tickets, there will hopefully be a very informal "come as you please" meet and greet preshow gathering before Saturday's show in Charlotte. Oh yeah...and the Girlfriend is bugging me about going to the cajun place she ate at when she drug her friend down to Charlotte a few years back to attend the Prince concert. Thanks to help from Steve Parrot and the Foxes, I've been informed that there is a cajun restaurant (how appropriate) adjacent to the Community theater called Boudreaux's Louisiana Kitchen and that their food and beverages are very good. So here's unofficial notice and an invite to attend. Just plan on showing up at the restaurant around 5pm or anytime anytime thereafter. Look for any size group of folks donning their Little Feat memoribilia and if you don't see anyone, you are first and get to be the building blocks of our gathering. If you are interested in joining in or have any questions, please contact me: mistahgene1@earthlink.net here is one link describing the restaurant: charlotte.citysearch.com/profile/6274410/charlotte_nc/boudreaux_s_louisiana_kitchen.html?cslink=search_name_noncust&ulink=search_2+5_searchslot4_520__0_profile_2_1Looking forward to seeing everyone at the show! SEATED TICKET HOLDERS
I was told over the phone by Jim Whitley(via one of his buddies) that folks start lining up to get into the venue around 5:30ish and that those who have seated tickets are given a # to claim their seats (first come first serve). Someone more familiar with the venue can chime in (Steve P, anyone?). Hopefully getting good seats won't be an issue and the majority of us can hang out at the restaurant, or maybe there'll be another way around this. Just wanted to give everyone a head's up. I'll post a detailed msg on the digest too when I get home from work.
G
UPDATE! just got an e-mail from Mike Fox, who confirmed the seating arrangements. Here is what he had to say....thanks a bunch Mike.....
"You can line up at the door whenever you feel like it. Many nights it starts at 5:30. They open the doors at 7:00 and you proceed orderly to a table where you grab a piece of paper and a pen. You put your name on the paper and haul ass into the theatre and put the paper on the seat of your choice. This is the old fashion, first come first serve. Once you have your seat, you can go back to the lobby or even back outside. They are ok on letting you out, at least the last time I was there."
