Slide guitar or trumpet?

Hi all. I did a bit of home recording yesterday, a tune I heard as a fetus back in 1949 ... my dad listened to his big band tunes LOUD. This is called I'm Getting Sentimental Over You. I played the rhythm on my Gibson J-50, the melody as a slide part on my Strat. Someone commented that it sounds like a trumpet. I have to agree...

This version screamed Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelly to me for some reason.
