now I'm not sure if aquasocks is the right word but in the mailing I think they recommended them. We did not attend last year, so I don't know how the beach is, but at a class resort like this I can not imagine the beach is so bad that aquasocks are needed. Tell me that this is just a preference of the person preparing that mailing. Thanks..

We never had problems last year. However, it is probably not a bad idea if you plan to be walking around in the water (spent most of my water time relaxing on those great floats). I wonder if this has anything to do with the storms that went thru.

We were just in Jamaica over the Christmas holidays, staying at the Couples resort, which is located adjacent to Grand Lido. We also walked along the Grand Lido beach. The Negril beaches are absolutely gorgeous right now! Comparing the sand and beach from last year's excursion, it was actually a little cleaner, if anything. We were told by a local that this is most likely a result of the hurricane, since the storm can bring in a little more sand. As far as aquasocks go, you probably won't need them, unless you plan to walk around on the more rocky areas of the Grand Lido waters at the far end of the clothing-optional beach. (Guess it technically wouldn't be a nude beach if you wore the aquasocks now, would it?) A pair of cheap thongs would probably do the trick as well. Looking forward to meeting you there. Jim & Darcy

I read that the Asian tsunami also "improved" the beaches in Thailand. There's talk of limiting development in the area.
