Here's a reprint of the letter that went out in all the Jamaica excursionists' packages, so this may be old news:
FEATFANS GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT
The Feat Fans Grassroots Movement is the product of the combined efforts of Little Feat and many Little Feat fans from around the world. Fans have always known that Little Feat has not received the promotion, exposure and recognition it deserves. The greatest music in the world has been made by the greatest "unknown" band in the world. In September 1997, Little Feat's Billy Payne posted an open invitation for fans to help promote the band from a grassroots level. His call was answered and the Regional Coordinator system was put in place to organize fans across the country and the world. Dedicated fans now make up an unprecedented force committed to spreading the word about Little Feat. The world is hearing about Little Feat, and the fans are making it happen!
The Little Feat Fans Grassroots Organization welcomes you to Grand Lido Negril for the third annual Feat Fan Excursion! Many of you are very familiar with the various ways we work with and help the band at shows and in between tours. For those of you who would like to find out more, check the Excursion schedule for the time and location of our informal meeting and join us. We will be discussing details of our online and on-the-ground network, plans for the future, and new ideas to consider. We will also share information about what Grassroots members have done: to help and support the band; to organize Little Feat fan get-togethers and promotions; and to make people aware of the band’s great music by trading live Little Feat music. Participation by all at this meeting is encouraged. We hope to have special guests representing the band and crew and Deep South Management.
