Greetings everyone!
If you attended the 2004 Jamaica excursion, you probably remember the incredible fun and the tremendous success of the benefit stereo raffle! For those of you who were not in attendance last year, you are really in for an awesome treat!
Since last year’s benefit raffle was so successful, this year’s raffle will be expanded to offer some fabulous prizes and an interesting new twist. All proceeds will be donated to benefit the Little Feat TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) Fund for Sev Hayward. As you probably all know, Sev has incurred extensive therapy-related expenses due to a TBI.
The grand prize in this year’s raffle is a custom-painted surf green American-made Fender Telecaster guitar, donated by Jim & Darcy Fangman. This guitar is set up like a Stratocaster with 3 pickups and a 5-way switch. Now for the best part – this guitar was autographed by all Little Feat band members, crew, and drivers at the 2003 Palatine, Illinois show. The autographs have been sealed under clear paint, so they will never wear or rub off. Rick Moore has kindly offered to place photos of the guitar, and raffle information on the Little Feat website. Look for them soon!
Other prizes will include a brand new portable stereo CD player, which will be played at the “Far Bar” throughout the excursion for everyone’s listening enjoyment. This stereo will also be autographed by the band. Jerry & Diane Myroup have graciously offered to purchase and transport a stereo to Jamaica again this year.
Rocky Tornabene (LF drum tech) is also donating some fabulous prizes, including a couple of custom designed Little Feat drumheads, both autographed and suitable for framing. And while the band was recording in Key West, Rocky secured some really cool items donated by Jimmy Buffet’s band to be included in the raffle.
In addition to these sensational prizes, there will be many more wonderful items, donated by some fantastic folks, included in the raffle. The winners will, of course, be responsible to transport their winning items home from Jamaica.
This raffle will be conducted in Jamaica. The drawing will be the grand finale of the Saturday evening concert. Tickets will be sold throughout the week at the rate of $5 each, or three for $10. And for all you BIG spenders – if you purchase a large amount of tickets, you will receive an instant bonus prize.
The tickets will only be sold in Jamaica. However, if you cannot go to Jamaica, and would like to purchase tickets -- NO PROBLEM, MON! You can simply contact one of your Feat Friends who IS going, and you can trust them to purchase the tickets for you. If you are a winner, your friend will then bring your winning items home to you.
If you will be in Jamaica with us, plan on bringing PLENTY of cash with you, and purchase MANY MANY tickets to benefit Sev. We want to double last year’s money, so please help us realize our goal! And you just may end up with a magnificent keepsake to take home from Jamaica. What a great way to bring back some marvelous memories of the 2005 Little Feat Jamaica excursion. See you all soon!
