Planting Fields, Oyster Bay, NY

Well kids, July is already here so I wanted to remind everyone that the Feat will be at the Planting Fields (Oyster Bay, LI) on Saturday,
July 31st. The venue is located in a beautiful state park which has an arboretum of 400 acres.

Tickets are $35 & $40 for under the tent; $20 for the lawn. You can get a $5 discount per ticket if you are a member of AAA. WFUV members get 15%. Both discounts are for the tent section. Members of Friends of the Arts get a 4 shows for the price of 3. Show goes on rain or shine.

Picnicing is allowed before and during the show. You will need to bring your own blankets, etc if you eat on the lawn. Tent ticket holders can use the tables in the tent area. They do sell food there too.

The Planting Fields show is only a little over a week away. Most of the info I posted before is the same.

There are just a few additions:

The gates open at 6:30 and show starts at 8. Becuase of the time and the fact that the venue encourages picnics, there will not be any formal pre-show gathering. But you will be able to find a few of us at the merch table (I think).

You can bring wine or beer to accompany your meal. ;D

Long time Feat fan, 1st time posting here. Had a blast at the show at the Arboretum. It's got to be one of my fav venues. It's a beautiful place. As far as the show, it was fantastic. Compared to when the guys played there last, a couple of yrs ago I believe, the crowd was finally into it, and the guys knew it. I was actually proud to see the crowd up and dancin and hoopin and hollerin. Loved the real slow version of Willin and almost crapped my pants when the did DBTJ in the middle of it. Hadn't heard that in ages. And the song from the new album, loved it. Some kinda reggae/country bop to it. Much better show than the one in Nawlins during JazzFest, can't wait to see em again at BB Kings in Nov.
