too bad Penn's Peak is another week/work night...a great place for a meet n'greet~ under weekend conditions another time of course~ is a place in Orwigsburg, PA off Rt. 61...C.S.P Hotel and the fabulous Creek Side Pub! An outdoor bar/food music deck alongside a nice creek.
They exhibit wild artwork shows that follow in the Neon/ Feat tradition..right now a local young artist from Allentown, Chris Kosztyo called "Faces of Bethlehem" until September 2004. It's about 40 minutes from Jim Thorpe, PA and Penn's Peak....

Hotel info for Penn's Peak. Go to the Penn's Peak website www.pennspeak.com and click on lodging. There is a historic inn and some B & B's right in town which is about 10 minutes from the venue. For those who prefer a regular hotel, there is a Best Western in Blakeslee, PA, which is a half hour away. www.bestwesternpa.com or 800-780-7234. Split Rock Resort is further away and alot more expensive since it's a whole resort. A nice place for a vacation though!

On Tuesday 7/27, which, by the way, happens to be exactly 6 months until the 3rd annual Feat Fan excursion, our favorite band will be delighting us with their magic at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of PA. Here is some more information. For information about the venue, see Penn's Peak website at www.pennspeak.com or call their toll free number at 1-866-605-PEAK. Tickets are $32.50 and are available through ticketmaster with an additional service charge. Doors open at 6:00. Show starts at 8:00. There is a restaurant with a bar that is open from 4:00 - 9:00. That night there will be an all-you-can-eat buffet for $13.95. There is also a bar in the concert hall and bar food is available as well. If we have at least 8 people interested in a formal meet 'n greet at the restaurant at Penn's Peak, we can reserve a table. Otherwise, it will be an informal meet 'n greet at the restaurant or bar. Let me know if you are coming so I can reserve a table. The venue does not help with the merch table, so we can use some people to help Denny out. Any help is appreciated!! Please email me off list if you are coming, or if you have any questions. scarletto17@hotmail.com Thanks!

As of today, 500 tickets have been sold and the venue holds 1600. The venue is general admission and will be set up with tables and chairs in nightclub style.
Hope to see more of you there! Tell your friends.

Heavy rain, dark clouds and thick fog did not deter a very cool crowd of about 900 people from coming out to Penn's Peak in the Pocono Mountains to hear Little Feat at an awesome venue. Probably 300 of them were walk ups. The place is all wood and was set up with tables and chairs on the main floor, the raised area around the floor and the balcony above. The bar and merch table were in the rear of the hall and there were several screens and monitors for viewing the show from a distance and from the bar. The sound system and acoustics were great. The only thing missing was the view of Jim Thorpe from the outdoor balcony, due to the clouds and fog.
I arrived with my husband Harvey around 4:30 and started helping Denny count and organize the merchandise and hang up shirts and signs. Saul Oliansky arrived just after we did to help out. Nice to meet ya Saul! Sound check came at 5:00 - Hate to Lose Your Lovin', Business As Usual and Corrazones Y Sombras. Sounded good to me!
Doors opened at 6:00 as we gathered email addresses and started selling. Before we knew it, we were out of most of the CD's, bottle openers and some sizes of t-shirts. By the end of the night, we had sold over $3000 in merchandise! Not bad for a crowd of only 900 on a rainy Tuesday night in the middle of nowhere. Must have been all those hippies and bikers! Other Feat fans I know arrived before showtime: Michele (Cajun Girl) Dubois, Chris Cafiero, Dancin' Tanya and Walter Banks. Thank you to everyone who helped out.
Here's the setlist: Dixie Chicken > Dark Star tease >Dixie Chicken > bass solo > keys > Fighting the Mosquito Wars > back to Dixie Chicken (what an awesome way to start the show!) Drivin' Blind (go Shaun!) Old Folks Boogie (Paul asked if it was anyone's birthday and dedicated this song to them) Business As Usual Spanish Moon > Skin It Back intro > Day at the Dog Races with Fred solo and Keys solo Corrazones Y Sombras > Fat Man In the Bathtub > Get Up Stand Up tease > Gringo (with a Get Up Stand Up beat - awesome!) > percussion > bass > Scarlet Begonias tease > bass solo > back to Fat Man (at the end of Fat Man, the crowd stood and cheered!!) Texas Rose Cafe Cajun Girl (best version ever!) Let It Roll
Encore: Feats Don't Fail Me Now 2nd Encore: Willin' > Don't Bogart That Joint > Willin'
I don't remember the last time I heard a second encore. And this was AFTER the lights came on!Awesome show.
A couple of changes to the setlist: Dixie Chicken and Fighting the Mosquito Wars replaced Cajun Rage. I'd Be Lyin' and On Your Way Down were skipped. I wish they had included I'd Be Lyin', one of my favorite Shaun songs. She only sang lead on one song, Drivin' Blind. It would have been nice to hear another one from her.
After the show, we went out to the bus to greet the band, but due to the relentless rain, they were not really hanging out outside the bus. We did see Kenny and Richie for a minute at the loading dock, but just missed Fred as he stepped back onto the bus.
There was a photographer there from the local paper, the Times News. He said he had written an article about Little Feat the week before and that I could find it online. I tried but have not found it yet. If anyone wants to try, it's at tnonline.com.
Denny said they are thinking of coming back to this venue next year on a weekend. That would be great! I just hope they pick a weekend I'm around!!

Hey folks! I'm another newbie - at least to this board - not Feat.
Scarlett, thanks for the set-list and comments. The show at Penn's Peak was fantastic! Just great to see rockers in their 3rd decade - and, just gettin' better all the time.
Can anyone help me with finding a recording of Shaun's "Driving Blind" (With my early stages Altzheimers - aging, short-term memory loss, I'd swear that tune was "Cadillac Hotel".) My problem is I had such a good time at the show that while driving home and cranking up "Neon Park" I started to jam those tunes into my memory of the actual show.
Rock On!
Next stop for this old puppy will be The Keswick Theatre.

Hoy there professor! Welcome to the Feat message board. Are you on the Feat mailing list? And are you aware of the hoyhoy digest? And the Feat chat room? Lots of things to explore.
At Penn's Peak, did you happen to notice a woman near the merch table with a Feat t-shirt asking people to sign the Little Feat email list? When she wasn't doing that, she was probably dancing. That was me.
When you asked about a recording of Shaun singing Drivin' Blind, did you mean from the Penn's Peak show specifically? Or any recording? I'm sure that show will become available eventually. Keep your eyes open on the message board or digest. There are other shows available with that song in the mean time. Check out the link for tape traders.
I'll be at the Keswick too. Hope to meet you there.

<snip, snip> There are other shows available with that song in the mean time. Check out the link for tape traders. <snip, snip> The band's very generous with their taping policy but let's remember that these tunes are available on COMMERCIAL releases, which put a couple of shekels in the band's collective pocket and helps keep em out on the road. Drivin' Blind is on AHEF... Rick

I want to keep hearing live Feat for a long time cause I ain't had enough fun yet. Okay, so where can I get a copy of Ain't Had Enough Fun? Hook me up and I'll put some francs in the kitty. "Put some money in the meter, so it won't run down..." I've got no qualms with that. Scarlett, I didn't spend much time at the 'goodies stand' but, I did notice a few women dancin' besides my wife and my sister (whilst I was, as well). One had heels and fell to a great ovation (it wasn't for her) and the other was a younger gal. Both were in front of the stage. Wow! What a show!

I just checked Little Feat's website and did not see Ain't Had Enough Fun for sale there. It's also not on Barnes & Noble's website. However, I did see it on Amazon and Ebay. Interesting but I couldn't find this song on any of the live CD's either.
Does anyone know why this CD is not for sale on littlefeat.net? Or know where else it may be purchased? And whether the band makes any profit on it anymore?
