This is gettin' major amusing, this thread. LOL. It starts out about the Feat; takes a few twists and turns, and suddently we're talkin' about the price of eggs in China. Not bein mean-spirited here, think it's kind of funny. Gosh, I'm ADD bigtime, who am I to say? And now, down to buzziness (back to the topic) and to hear what the ultimate, true, best advice can be about the RRHOF (in my mind, at least).
I aggree with those who say to stay off the backs of the blue-blood snobby elite in the upper rungs of the RRHOF. You have to understand the mentality of these type of "people". Can you say EGO? I remember living in Atlanta during the 95 Olympics. One of the national Olympic committe members insisted that a RED CARPET be layed out in front of a limosine before he got out. Ya think these types of people are only in fictional movies? Think again!
Nah man, leave 'em alone bigtime. They're like hornets or killers bees or something, for gosh sakes!!!
Stay away, in my opinion, out of respect for the greatest American rock and roll band of the last thirty years.
Later, Me.

correction to prev. post: 1. The Olympics were in 96 2. The red carpet was rolled out for the guy at a HOTEL, not at any event, (as if that were a good excuse) 3. Change 30 years to 37, or so, give or take. 4. ..(sorry 'bout the spelling errors..)

I know the last message posted here was June 8th and this is July 6th, but here's my 2 cents worth. The Feat not being in the RRHOF is just another example of why I will watch the Academy Awards and why I won't watch the Grammys... the grammys are about content in the cash drawer and the academys are about content in the film. Whenever I read in the paper who has won this year's grammys most of the time I don't know whether to laugh out loud or cry for the poor saps who will run right out and buy the CD. Feat fans it's like this. Let 25,000 knuckleheads plunk down $50 or $75 and go see Christine or Janet or Justin, and 20 years from now almost all of them will say to themselves "what the hell was I thinkin ? I'll gladly pay my $25 and enjoy a first class Feat show with 500 or 1000 others and remember it fondly for the rest of my life! ! later - chad gumbo

replying to my own reply {#19}... I forgot the segue between RRHOF and the grammys. They're not one and the same, but I think the politics of both run parallel to one another < you can imagine what he's kissing ;D! Also I see there were other postings since June 8th... duh... page 2 Hey, I never said I was a young feat fan! chadgumbo

Hey there Mr. Gumbo, you and me are on the same bus. Writing in real time can be dangerous, thus the hindsight of things missed. Hey, you may have not needed to go back and reverse yourself. I got it. Yeah, money talks, and it talks LOUDER AND LOUDER all the time,,,wont go there, (that's a whole 'nuther Jerry Falwell oxymoronic sermon on bigotry...and what an insult he is to my state, the Commonwealth of...i digress..you did not hear me say it).... back to undigressing...to close circle (as if I ever could) on the last 4 posts here, politics are more politcally correct than ever, money talks louder than ever, and, with all due respect, most people are just plain stupid, except Feat fans. (now that last one is a joke, we are all of one, in my 'pinion)...ya knocked it outta the park with your postings Mr. Gumbo. They worked for me!

I finally got a chance to read Bill's 3 part interview. I understand and agree that Little Feat doesn't need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs Little Feat. If the Hall is going to have any validity other than a popularity contest to not include possibly the most influential Amercan band negates any claim to serious scholarship the Hall might have. The aim of the Hall was supposed to be not only a dead place of artifacts but a living breathing place where the artform of rock and roll can be studied and better understood.
