Never been a fan of the trilogy so I can't comment on the above. However, in case there is someone here who has never seen this, I will post this link: www.tolkiencollector.com/bilbo5.movYou need quicktime plugin for it to work. oh, no ... I wonder how much Nimoy wishes this would just disappear?

I'm going to have to put in a shameless plug here. When I was growing up a kid moved in 2 houses over from mine sometime in the late 1960s. Like me, he was going into the 5th grade and we became very good friends and remained so all the way through to high school graduation. We went to different colleges, but remained in contact, and he now lives about 50 miles from where I do. We still see each other on occasion. Anyway, his name is Dr. Henry Emmons and he is a psychiatrist. He's written a book that was released on January 3rd. I picked up a copy of it today at Barnes and Noble. The title is The Chemistry of Joy and it's a book intended to help people with mild to severe depression. I'm not depressed myself, it's just that it's not every day I can walk into a bookstore and buy a book that was written by someone I grew up with. If you're feeling a little blue, check it out. -

I suppose I could recommend a couple of books for those days when it's too rainy to get out the golf clubs. First is a great book on the blues titled "Escaping the Delta: Robert Johnson and the Invention of the Blues" by Elijah Wald. A truly great read. Second is a book that has been around for a while titled "A Bright Shining Lie: John Paul Vann and America in Vietnam" by Neil Sheehan.
