Run, don't walk, run to the next gig near you by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. www.gracepotter.com/home.html Any fan of Feat will totally enjoy this young Vermont quartet. Rootsy, bluesy and original, Grace's songs and voice will evoke Bonnie Raitt, Sue Foley, Nora and some say a little Janis. On Hammond she is no slouch and is one half of the driving force that fuels this band. Next to the very able slide work of guitarist Scott Tournet, who just tears it up, Grace provides both punch and gentile hands to a really nice set of original tunes. And it pleases me each time I see a band place a stand-up bass on stage. Bryan Dondero knows exactly what to do with it and it was a pity the set didn't provide more opportunities for this instrument as his work was mostly directed towards the electric. Not to be forgotten is Matt Burr on drums, who must have been the member placing Little Feat covers in their early gigs... as he seemed to be channeling Richie with some really nice work and (facial) expressive play. See them live, get their CDs, do your self a favor. (... forgive me if this has all been said before but a search of the current board reveled 0 hits. ) D

Hoydi Ho all! Alright ... I tried to keep it to myself (constant attempt to evolve), but damn it all I'm gonna bust. Not only did I see Bonnie front and center last night, but got to meet her and Jon Cleary And Grace Potter last night.
Highlight musically for me had to be when the drunk chick in the balcony yelled (for the 3rd time)
"I wanna hear Angel from Montgomery!"
hehehe to which I replied (almost as loud from the fourth row) "Gnawin' on it!" hehehehe
which she then played hehehe
Now that's not the exciting part ... tonight I get to introduce her to my sister DD. Who when told I won tickets said "I told my class today that she was my hero."
DD is MY hero. Man life is good. ;D
Always love, T

"Gnawin' on it!" hehehehe which she then played hehehe Man life is good. ;D Always love, T That is one smokin song! Particularly when it's her and Roy Rogers with dueling geetars. Ask Bonnie why her and Delbert had to quit hanging out in Austin together? Just kidding...don't.
