Hey Paul; I've always been an admirer of your style; who are some of your influences? Seems to me I read somewhere where you said Hendrix was your primary influence.....

Hey O' Master Foo, I was wonderin' bout the washing machine intro on I'd be lyin'. Was that a Kenmore or Maytag? I'm almost sure it wasn't one of them coin op washers. I could say it makes no difference, But I, I'd be lyin.
I remember several years ago Billy gettin' off the bus at the Dothan, Al. civic cntr. for sound check and askin' if there was a washing machine avaliable. Is there something more to this or should I maybe go in for more meds. Later... rbiii

Paul- When I see you guys (and gal) live, I noticed that you switch from the aqua strat to the old black one when you go regular to slide. Is the bridge higher on the black one, or is open tuned, or both?
And as a personal request, please have Howard move you up in the mix off the board. As much as I love the rest of the band, I really, really love the slide!!

Hi Paul! I met you and the band after a Wolf Trap show several years ago, and it was a real treat . I recently caught the show in Harrisburg on May 8, and thought it was terrific. I have thought you are one of the best guitarists around, and tops at slide guitar. Such a distinctive sound. I was channel surfing the other night, and InHD, the independent channel high definition feed, had High Wire Act on! What a nice treat. Be well, and see you next time y'all come through DC. Ten years ago tonight Little Feat played in Rochester, Minnesota. While the crowd wasn't anything to write home about for members of the band, the show was certainly memorable for me. You were playing selections from your then new album Aint Had Enough Fun. And it was the first time I saw Shaun performing with the band. At some point during the evening Shaun wished you, Paul, a happy birthday. I believe she may have even mentioned that you were turning 47 on that particular date. So I just wanted to drop you a quick note and wish you happy birthday. As you're currently on tour, I trust all is well with you and the others. Enjoy your day, and I look forward to many more years of music from Little Feat. - chadgumbo

We wanted to join Chad in wishing you a very happy birthday. Though Helen and I have now moved from lovely Carmel Valley to just as lovely Oregon City (in ... duh ... Oregon), we still remember the fabulous night at the barn in Hidden Valley that has since become a stellar DVD. We will see you for sure in Negril, but hope to catch you somewhere on the left coast before then. Again, enjoy this day and may all the best pass your way

Man...talk about "Fireworks" for a birthday! You and I were just young men the first time I caught your act. I think I can safely say it was quite an ear opener for me. The Feat have pulled me out of a funk many times since then. Thanks!!!
Happy Birthday Picken!
(and oh yeah...let's get that Big Red Bus to Texas!)

Hello Paul, Hope you're enjoying your week off and that you're reconnecting with the family, the golf course, etc. Thanks for an absolutely wonderful performance on Saturday in Davenport, Iowa. Can't wait to see it on PBS. After the show, (and by the way thanks for taking the time to chat with me for a few minutes) Shred was telling me how he had never been photographed with you before. As my camera was the first to have the honors, I thought I'd post the photo here It's a bit blurry, but hey it only adds to the whole Shred mystique ;D Anyway Paul, here's that pic and thanks again. - chadgumbo Finally got that photo up. No, readers, you don't need glasses - it's a blurry shot. But wait, there's a much clearer shot of Shred (and me) over on the Tour 2005 page... under the Davenport, Iowa thread ;D
