Howdy all,
The internet has brought a bevy of tools and services to the musician. We can share sound files, written music, MIDI files, lyrics and more!
If you have links to great making music sites let's get them listed here. I'll post some of my favorite places as we go along.

If you want a free place to post your mp3's (up to 15megs) and a lot of really professional help setting up your home studio and just general talk with musicians/producers from all over the world go to... www.nowhereradio.com/Check it out, there are thousands of musicians posting music there, from bluegrass to rap to metal to classical. Click on Community, then Home Recording Central to get to the top 25 messages on the message board. These guys are really friendly and extremely helpful. Tons of info on equipment, songwriting, loops and loads more. My stuff, done on my ancient Mac G3/300 using Cubase is at ... www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2362&alid=-1....and like I said, its free to put your songs up there. Have fun.

Hey....or eh! everyone! I'm a new member, and browsing through the posts I stumbled upon this topic. A great website with tons of resources for players/students/writers can be found at www.earpower.com. They have great little rambles about musicianship in general, as well as many little programs to help develop any skill, from eartraining to rhythm pattern playing/memorizing. Alot of great insight, even if it's only a reminder for some of us!! Thanks to all the musicians who participate in this forum....I'll be adding some soundbytes later on, but I've got to get ready for a weekend of giggin' across southeastern Ontario. Take care, and always play LOUD and PROUD!!!!

HI again folks!
This topic has made me curious, and while surfin' I found another neat site for songwriters. Now, I've been exposed to a fair amount of theory over the years, but sometimes I've found it difficult to apply it to songwriting in a creative fashion. This site explains chord structures very well, without weighing you down with details. The chord map for building progressions is the most intuitive 'picture' I've seen yet! Let me know what you think! <http://members.aol.com/chordmaps/>
