TEXT 8-)OK--
What will we do now that the band will be off a little bit over a week?? I do not usually post here: I preferr the Hoy Hoy Digest, but I will surf this sight the next few days. The show in Planting Fields L.I. NY was incredible. Still buzzin' after a week... Sang kicked ass as sub POC, Saul and Beverly Oliansky rocked the merch table, and Dr. Dean and his wife Heidi helped out as well--great fan group effort! Mac Davis posted to the HHD today about this--I urge anyone not on the HHD but who love Feat to sign up; it is a fantastic forum.

TEXT 8-)OK-- <snip, snip> I do not usually post here: I preferr the Hoy Hoy Digest, but I will surf this sight the next few days. <snip, snip> I urge anyone not on the HHD but who love Feat to sign up; it is a fantastic forum. <snip, snip> Paco, here's my 2 cents on the Message Board vs. the HoyHoy mailing list... HoyHoy is a mailing list that's being used in place of Instant Messages by most of the user base. The number of people that actually read the messages on the HoyHoy mailing list pale to the numbers of folks that cruise through this message board on a monthly basis. The messages here are editable, you can delete ones that you screw up and they are not held in perpetuity at an online archive cuz you can always change them. HoyHoy can be, at times, interesting. There are very few people that read it and participate in any conversations. I lurked since the AOL daze and never participated. I like many saved all the issues of the Digest coming into my mailbox with the intent to read them, but generally just deleted the old ones and picked up with the latest issue. I love the thread about “what are the 5 CDs in rotation at your house?” thread. Over the years, I have been turned on to some great bands via that thread. Trying to find the messages in the Digest archives is like teaching a chicken to swim (don’t ask ;-). Here on the message board, that thread is organized into about 2 or 3 pages of great suggestions that are easy to find and peruse. There are tens of thousands of unique visits to the Feat site every month. These folks, most casual Feat/Music fans are much more likely to follow a link to a message board than to follow the directions to sign up for HoyHoy. I see the logs and can confirm that the message boards attract a whole heap of eyeballs. This particular message board is a free service and it’s still great. As a means for the fans to get together and easily communicate, IMHO, the message board wins, hands down. You’ll find new people posting here all the time. That’s not so on HoyHoy…
Just my opinion and I’ve been known to be wrong…
Nick

Hey, Paco,
I lurk the HHD but there are daze that I wonder why. Too many people have no idea how to cut and paste and that seriously hinders a good reading experience.
... with your proclivity for posting on the HHD... you'll have three, no... 4 stars in no time! if you start posting here regularly... or just cutting and pasting your HHD... contributions ;D ;D
Welcome

:oPoints taken and absorbed...I do realize more folks see this forum as opposed to the HHD--I guess I have made SO many friends via the HHD that I get a bit blind. Still keeping my promise to check in daily
