Has anyone seen the Pontiac GTO commercial with a "ghost" intro of The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go", then into the song. It's pretty cool. The song selection may reflect on the rather cool reception in sales the new GTO is getting. It's actually an Australian Pontiac that they switched the drivers side on and are trying to sell it as the re-born GTO. Personally, I think it's pretty bland looking (I'm rambling). But anyway... I can't say that I've seen the new GTO but I remember when Chevy reintroduced the Nova in (I want to say) the early 1980s. The first time I saw it I could hardly believe what I was seeing. In the mid-1970s any high school kid with his driver's license would have loved to have been seen driving a Nova. It was sort of like Chevy's answer to Ford's Gran Torino. Then the Nova was taken out of production for a few years. And when it came back it looked little bigger or better than a Dodge Omni. It was a tin box on four wheels. I've never understood why car manufacturers do that, but if Chevy ever reintroduces the Camaro like that then truly... - chadgumbo

Around that same time they brought back the Dodge Charger. It looked very similar to a Datsun 210. The new Mustang hasn't grown on me completely yet, but at least it has some muscle. what was the name of this thread? Oh yeah... still Chinese Work Songs! ;D Mike

My Mother used to have a Datsun 210.
The color was a funny butterscotch color.
She had the car for several years. The last I knew the car was still running.
What am I listening to right now?
Randy's new cd
Passin Through! ;D

Your home girl has always done good! I love Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders. It does disturb me that Rush uses "Ohio" as his theme song. Oh well. (yes...I occasionally listen to the Pill Poppin Pig, and Mr. Vibrator himself ;D. i like to know what the enemy is up to )

Mike, Ditto . Sorry I couldn't resist. I don't know where Rush gets off using "Ohio" ("I went back to") as his theme song, the pig wouldn't last 5 minutes here. I wonder if he realizes Cuyahoga Falls, a suburb of Akron and Chrissie's home town, is less than 30 minutes away from Kent State. I like you listen to Rush sometimes, we must keep an eye on the enemy. Your right my homie is great and is still rockin'. Peace j

Mike, Ditto . Sorry I couldn't resist. Peace j Hey man, if you really want to be "in", it's "mega dittos to you Rush, I love your show, and think you are doing so many great things for America... " with a nervousness in your voice like you're talking to God. ;D

Mike, I've always been tempted to call Rush but I know halfway through my argument he would hang up on me and do his "I'll pretend the guy is still on the phone while I continue my nonsensical argument for another ten minutes so it will sound like I won". Does anyone in his audience ever notice his "debate techniques"? Have you ever noticed that Rushbo never shows up on the political shows? It's because he refuses to debate unless the rules are so slanted in his favor that he can't lose. His demands are so egregious that even his buddies at Fox won't allow them. While I'm complainin', I should know better by now than to listen to "critics". I grabbed "New Adventures in Hi-Fi" by REM at the library after not bothering to listen to it for how long now because of the awful revues this record got. I can't get it out of my cd player, I love it, highly recommend. When you get to track 13, can't think of the title, remember it was me who told you about it, you can thank me later . Speaking of the library, if you like me can't afford to buy every cd you want, you can find a surprising cd selection at your library and try them out first and then buy the ones you really like. AND, our libraries are under the attack of the budget cuts, as Scott has mentioned on the politics thread, so if you get a minute drop your senators and reps a line to let them know that you think our libraries are important to our communities. Thanks. I'll quite complainin' now . Peace j

Peace j J, I dig the numbers thing, and I will include the two of my household, but I think it's always important to remember so as not to play their bullshit "parlor games", that you're not telling them anything they don't already know. They just don't care.

Peace j I've said it on here somewhere (even before he died) that it would be great to (have seen) Rush and Hunter S. Thompson go at it. ;D Hell if we're going to dream, how bout Abbie Hoffman and Rush. I crack up just thinking about that. ;D

Every once in awhile I just gotta have a Reese's Pieces Blizzard at Dairy Queen, and every once in awhile I just gotta hear Times Like These by Foo Fighters. So One on One is in the CD player. -chadgumbo

You guys crack me up.....if you ever get together at a Feat concert and start talking politics, i WILL lure you outside with a promise just so i can hear the music!!
also bought the new Jimmy LaFave- his "Texoma" is a hard act to follow but "Blue Nightfall" is solid. I'm guilty of loving Texas music so take my recommendations with the (nonproverbial) grains of salt that fall off your margarita! got to run, SB may be warming up in a few...!
